How much gold did Solomon get from Ophir?
Was it 420 talents (I Kings 9:26-28 KJV)? ““26And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom. 27And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, shipmen that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon. 28And they came to Ophir, and fetched from thence gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.” Or was it 450 talents (II Chronicles 8:17-18 KJV)? Was it 40,000 as per I Kings 4:26 “And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen” (KJV)
Or was it 4,000 as per II Chronicles 9:25 “And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.” (KJV) Was it 700 as per II Samuel 10:18 “And the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew the men of seven hundred chariots of the Syrians, and forty thousand horsemen, and smote Shobach the captain of their host, who died there.” (KJV)
Or was it 7,000 as per I Chronicles 19:18 “But the Syrians fled before Israel; and David slew of the Syrians seven thousand men which fought in chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the captain of the host.” (KJV) |
